Why the XBOX One is an awesome console!

Okay, I get it no one likes XBOX ONE at the moment but shut up for a second and step back.

So like the fanboy/man/girl I think I am I watched the XBOX ONE reveal on my XBOX like a true supporter and since it's release I was just super excited that my integrated thesaurus has given up on me so now all I can think about when typing this is screaming "It's Soo gur,,furhu]dGooooood!"
That's right, XBOX ONE is so good it makes me freak out.

Pre-Owned / Traded Games

Fast forward to E3 where everyone was anticipating whether or not XBOX will speak about their pre-owned/trading games rule which after researching I can still not find a clear answer on how it will work but from what I have gathered it sounds like you can give the game to a friend but you must log in to their console to authorise the trade or they need to be a member of your friends list for 30 days of more and this can only be done once if you try to trade it again it will force them to pay for the full game or something.
Trade in's and Pre-owned games are allowed at selected retailers but publishers can opt out it's a very confusing thing which I'm still waiting for a black and white document on their website telling me the terms and how it benefits me (if it does.)

Now for me, I have never in my life traded/given a game or bought a pre-owned one for the simple reason being that if I spent £50 on a game why on earth would I want to give it to someone who will most likely scratch it, damage it or may not even return it. Sharing games is a stupid idea full stop. And as for pre-owned games again it's been in someone else's possession so it loses all value and you are paying more than what's it worth anyway. Ever been to a trade in store? Sell your game for £5 within a minute it's on the shelf as you walk out the door for 5x's that!

In short you can play and trade games.. just there are still weird possibly nazi terms Microsoft has yet to clear but a spokesperson told wired.co.uk: "Yes, we will support games that are traded or resold...we will not block that from happening,"

Always Online!

This is what get's me the most about people with the XBOX ONE and that is they do not like the idea of having to have the console connect to the internet once every 24 hours..

Give me a moment.

Right, Okay.. Erm. Well Wow.

Firstly clearing the air. The XBOX ONE does not require to be ALWAYS ONLINE that is an optional choice for game developers. Not the Xbox, the XBOX ONE doesn't say "connect me or I shall not turn on" It's simply that if a game developer wants verification before you play a game then the ability is there.

Quick question. Who has a smart phone? Whether it be a wanna be Blackberry phone or an actually real SmartPhone like a Nexus or iPhone? I'm assuming everyone interested in spending up to £500 on a  new console.
That mobile phone in your pocket do you know what it's doing? It's connecting to the internet like more times than the new XBOX ONE will every need to! The console connects once a day only to make sure there is still an active connection between you and the cloud which sucks. The only cloud I enjoy is Apples iCloud purely for contact, photo syncing but that's besides the point. Everyone is practically already always connected to the internet through some means your computer is, your smartphone, tablet.. Hell even your Sky/Virgin media box is connected to the internet.
So if the concept of the XBOX ONE needing to connect once every 24 hours just once for a second is a reason to NOT buy it!? Get the hell off this planet.

THE KINECT IS ALWAYS WATCHING YOU!

So? If Microsoft and the NSA want to see my junk their gain.

Seriously though I love Kinect, it is such a fantastic piece of Technology, I don't think people have yet to grasp how amazing it is. I've had a Kinect sensor since the original in 2010 and I love it, still use it today. The arcade games available with Kinect are just fantastic Dance Central is brilliant! I mean how can people compare Kinect to the Playstation or Wii .. I get the Wii came out first with the shaking a stick thingi but Microsoft created the true controllerless gaming which is just fantastic.
Voice commands to? If you love Netflix then Kinect is for you because Netflix is about being lazy on a day off and when you can voice command everything as well it's the perfect companion.

Back to the spy thing. Okay so Kinect is required for XBOX ONE to work. Sure that will bum people out because I imagine people aren't too fond of the "always listening" feature which means that even when your Xbox is off or should I say in a very very low state of power just enough for the Kinect to listen and process commands it can still hear you. Obviously. So when you say "Xbox On" boom it's on.
Given the recent security scares people are concerned about the governments having unprecedented access to our lives or target advertising from the Kinect listening to what you are saying or looking at which oh my god finally! Advertisements I can ACTUALLY be interested in, instead of having crap I don't want taking up my time. Jesus.

Oh and of course you can just turn off the console at the wall, you know saving power and stuff.

Not playing 360 Games.

I can imagine that this will upset a lot of people. But if you still have XBL I wouldn't worry about it, chances are by the time it's release most of the games you actually play you will get for free to download to the XBOX ONE so I wouldn't worry about it.

Of course that may not be pleasing to the majority but think of it this way. The XBOX ONE is a new generation console for the NEXT generation of games. Why would you buy a new console just to play the old games you've already completed on Xbox 360. Where is the logic in that. And not forgetting the XBOX ONE has far superior technology than the Xbox 360 it's a completely rebuilt design which is why the game developers can create such brilliant pieces of work on the XBOX ONE. If they rebuilt the console with the goal of being able to still run 360 games then they'd be restricted and the next generation games won't be as vast and rich as they going to be now.
But I'm sure in the future is Microsoft wanted to they could create some form of emulator for the XBOX ONE to run 360 games but by that time no one give a crap.

What I also enjoy is people using the inability to play 360 games as a reason to switch to a PS4... Sure because they will most definitely play on there.

Overall I think the XBOX ONE is a great device because not only is it a fantastic games console which can do everything the PS4 and more (Kinect without sticks & Skyping and shit) .. but also less (in terms of preowned/shared gaming.)
I know it will integrate well with Windows 8 which as you may have guess from my previous blogs is an operating system I'm in love with so that will be sweet.
The game limitations whatever they may be does not at all bother me because I'm one of those I paid for the game it's mine forever and to be completely honest I will end up downloading more than buying disks.
The Always online rule again doesn't bother me because I'm sure the game developers will have a reason & better features for me once I connect.
Kinect well. I don't mind, I don't believe Kinect will spy on me that's just tin foil conspiracies and I love the idea of turning it on with my voice.
And I got bored of my 360 games a long time ago.

Bring on Dead Rising 3! GTA V! & Elder Scrolls Online!!

XBOX ONE IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!
